After graduating from Tehran University, she left Iran and landed in New York City, where she explored her artistic talents in lacquer painting and soaked in the sounds of Manhattan — especially the vibrant Harlem jazz scene that sparked her passion for jazz.
In New York, Rana teamed up with guitarist and producer Steven Toub to create her first full-length album, The Blues Are Brewin’ , a collection of American jazz and blues standards.
